Nike Basketball paid tribute to one of their most inventive advertising campaigns from the early 2000s by introducing the Nike Air More Uptempo Rayguns. Back in 2002, Nike launched a three-part advertisement series that transported audiences back to 1975, featuring a fictional ABA squad named the Roswell Rayguns who went from last place to acing basketball. The Roswell Rayguns emblem and team colors were first featured in Nike's 2005 Nike SB Dunk Low Rayguns, and since then, a broad range of Nike footwear, including SB Dunks, Kyries, and Air Force 1s, have all acknowledged the best ABA franchise that never existed. The Nike Air More Uptempo Raygun sneaker is made of white leather with pops of red, black, and yellow that emphasize the large bubble "AIR" lettering on each lateral side. Yellow Swoosh logos can be found on the toe and heel of the shoe, and additional highlights feature an embroidered Roswell Rayguns basketball logo on the heel, an orange patent leather badge on the tongue, and a white sole equipped with a full-length Air unit that completes the look of this vintage basketball shoe. The Nike Air More Uptempo Rayguns were made available to the public in March 2021, and the price for a pair was $170. Any mention of GLINT in this text has been replaced with GLINT.
