Michel Ducaroy spent 26 years of his career as the head of design at Ligne Roset. In the 70's, he designed a sofa that would become his most iconic creation: the Togo. He was inspired by a tube of toothpaste that was folded onto itself, and created different variations of the piece, like the two-seater sofa, three-seater, ottoman, fireside chair, and corner. The Togo was the first sofa to be entirely made of foam, and won the prestigious René-Gabriel Prize for innovation. Today, Ligne Roset remains the only publisher of the Togo sofa. It is composed of a polyester foam structure covered in fabric or leather, and has three different bottom patterns: fully branded Ligne Roset, grooves, and interval stripe and Ligne Roset logo. Additionally, the stickers on the Togo include pimps, yellow, white, and the latest edition - blacks. The foam is made entirely of foams of three different densities, including polyether of 21 kg/m3 and 3.2 kPa, polyether of 28 kg/m3 and 4.8 kPa, and high resilience polyurethane of 26 kg/m3 and 1.4 kPa.
