The "Amanta" lounge chairs are a stunning combination of cognac brown leather and fibreglass, originally designed by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia in the 1960s. This iconic design has stood the test of time and is still a coveted piece for any interior. For a spacious interior, the "Amanta" modular sofa is a perfect fit. This grand and bulky sofa provides plenty of comfortable seating for the entire family. The sofa consists of two original upholstery elements with dark grey fibreglass shells that hold the cushions, all in wonderful vintage condition. Mario Bellini is a world-renowned architect and designer who has been influential in Italian design since the 1960s. His innovative body of work spans architecture, urban planning, furniture, and industrial design. Bellini's notable designs include iconic pieces such as the Amanta Chair and Le Bambole Sofa for B&B Italia, the Kar-a-Sutra van for Citroën, the Divisumma 18 Electronic Calculator for Olivetti, and the Bellini Chair for Heller, among many others. Bellini has received numerous accolades for his work, including eight Compasso d'Oro awards and the Medaglia d'Oro for his contribution to design and architecture around the world. He curates art, design, and architecture exhibitions in Italy and abroad, and leads seminars and workshops at academic institutions worldwide.
