, the Amanta armchair set by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia in the 1960s was his debut design for the company. Taking cues from the Barcelona armchair by Ludwig Mies Van de Rohe, Bellini created one of the earliest modular sofas available. Although this series is no longer in production, there is a second version from 1975 with minor structural changes including an armrest module and removal of the rear slot and buttons. The cubic seat is made from a single piece of reinforced polyester with a backrest slit for added strength. It features three independent cushions with covered buttons on the back and seat, and no base. The B&B Italia logo can be found beneath the structure. This set is in excellent condition and has been reupholstered in our workshop.
