VIneyard notes: "Located to the east of the Saint-Emilion appellation, in the commune of Saint Etienne de Lisse, Château Mangot has 37 hectares in one piece, including 34 hectares of vineyard. Facing due south , the combe or "circus" of Mangot offers 4 areas of terroir : foot of the coast, hillsides, terraces and plateaus. These terroirs have 21 plots which stand out between 35 and 86 meters above sea level , the highest point of the appellation. From a geological point of view, the asteria limestone rests on a base of calcareous molasses (soft rock), which outcrops on the slopes (15% slope) around the limestone plateaus . This increased presence of limestone gives Mangot wines density and richness while retaining freshness, tension and minerality ."
