Fifth Growth. Cinquieme Grand Cru Classe in 1855. Expert tasting note: "Deep, dark ruby-red in color - the wine is almost opaque. The nose is open & appealing with redcurrant fruit, delicate coffee notes & hints of mint. The palate shows a medium intensity of ripe red-cherry & redcurrant flavors. Supple fruit is supported by firm tannins. Acidity is fresh, alcohol is balanced, but the finish is a little short. This is a nicely balanced wine that is approachable & seems suited to mid-term drinking." - 11/93 DCAMW
