The MR Chaise Lounge, a creation of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, dates back to 1927 when it was designed for display at the Weissenhof exhibit held in Stuttgart, Germany. The lounge features black leather upholstery, channeled and resting on a cantilevered tubular chrome steel frame. Knoll Studio produced this iconic piece in 1984, with the manufacturer's label boldly emblazoned on it. The chaise was especially dear to Mies, who included it in the bedroom of Philip Johnson's New York apartment. Spread over the pages of the March 1931 issue of Arts and Decoration magazine, image 8 captures the chaise in all its glory.
