René Lalique created the decorative panels Merles et Raisins in 1928 for the Presidential Wagon of the Orient Express. The panels feature a charming design of blackbirds and grapevines, symbolizing elegance and the "Art de Vivre". Made of white moulded pressed glass with a silver background, they adorned the Cuban mahogany woodwork of the wagon. The pattern has been revived in Clear Crystal, Satin Gold Steel, and Walnut, with dimensions of H 200 x L 146 x D 77 cm. The design also includes crystal handles and glass shelves, in a numbered edition by Lalique Maison, designed by Lady Tina Green & Pietro Mingarelli.
