In 1928, René Lalique created the decorative panels Merles et Raisins in white molded pressed glass with a silver-colored background on silver background to adorn the Cuban mahogany woodwork of the famous Orient Express' Presidential Wagon. The Merles et Raisins pattern brings back a motif that symbolizes elegance and the "Art de Vivre", featuring a delightful design of blackbirds pecking at small clusters of grapes. Made of Clear Crystal and Natural Ebony, the dimensions of this piece are 118 cm in height, 146 cm in length, and 56 cm in depth, including the crystal handles. It weighs 183.0 kg and is part of a numbered edition. Lalique Maison, designed by Lady Tina Green & Pietro Mingarelli, captures the essence of this piece beautifully.
