René Lalique's collaborations on architectural projects were a significant aspect of his career. His exceptional sense of balance and harmony, coupled with his expert knowledge of glass working, made him well-equipped to tackle the challenge of creating large-scale works. In 1928, Lalique designed the Reed Piper panel for the Venice Simplon Orient Express train. This intricate piece features a male figure celebrating the worship of Bacchus amidst wine shoots and stylized bunches of grapes, all enhanced by the brilliance of crystal. The dimensions of the panel are H 60 x L 34 x W 23 cm, with a weight of 14.0 kg. It features LED lighting with 364 bulbs, 18 watts each, producing 2160 lumens. The protection rating is IP20, with a color temperature of 4000°K for a warm light effect. This piece is part of a numbered edition and is a creation of Lalique Maison, designed by Lady Tina Green & Pietro Mingarelli.
