This is a red lacquered office set comprising an angular table and chair. The furniture was originally designed in 1934-35 for the Guébriant sanatorium and sponsored by the French Army to Abraham and Jacques Henri Le Même, with Jules Leleu as the decorator. The Jean Prouvé workshop in Nancy produced the furniture, including built-in bedside beds, hanging desks, chairs, pedestal tables, and visitor chairs for all 146 rooms. The longitudinal members and bed bases are identical to those used for the 1932 Cité Universitaire de Nancy beds, which were also designed by Jean Prouvé. Some of the construction details also suggest the involvement of Prouvé in the design of the Sanatorium furniture. However, it is likely that the chairs, armchairs, and pedestal tables were designed by Jacques Henri Le Même or Jules Leleu, while the visitor chair is most certainly the work of Leleu. A set of this furniture is now found in the Museum of the 1930s in Boulogne Billancourt. Nonetheless, the paintings on the furniture have some shards due to use. The chair measures H: 82, L: 41, L: 41 cm, and the office measures H: 78, L: 170, L: 72 cm. This furniture set comes from the Sanatorium of Guébriant in Savoie. Overall, it is a beautifully designed furniture set that reflects the innovative design styles of the art deco era.
