The Palais Stoclet Armchair is a remarkable creation by Austrian designer Josef Hoffmann, crafted between 1905-1911 during the time of the art Nouveau and Vienna secession movements for the mansion Palais Stoclet in Brussels, Belgium. Although originally produced in the early 1900s, this chair was brought back to life in the 1980s by Wittmann, an Austrian furniture manufacturer renowned for producing high-quality upholstered furniture since 1886. Manufacturing this piece in Cognac Nubuk aniline leather, the leather surface has a soft velvet feel that develops an exquisite patina over time. Wittmann has a long-standing design collaboration with Josef Hoffmann, who was a founder of the Wiener Werkstätten/ Vienna Secession. This particular armchair is number two in the series, and it is a timeless masterpiece.
