This is a vase with a circular stand that swells slightly towards the top and has a flat, flared rim around the mouth. It is made of opal-colored glass with a black overlay and features a high-cut design of bellflowers and geometric lines on a satin background. The vase was designed for the Austrian Museum for Art and Industry in Vienna and was manufactured by Loetz in Lostermuehle, Bohemia, Austria-Hungary. It is part of the Series II production number PN 8126 by J. Hoffmann and was made in 1912. The vase is made of colorless glass with opal white underlay, and the design is etched into the glass in two steps, creating a finely structured surface like hoarfrost. The vase is about 11.6 cm (4.56 in) tall and 8.0 cm (3.14 in) in diameter and is in excellent condition.
