In 1963, during the dawn of the Space Age, Italian architect Joe Colombo created a design that became a defining aesthetic of that era - the Elda chair, named after his beloved wife. Initially manufactured by Comfort and later by Longhi, the Elda chair boasting sinuous curves made of fiberglass and leather, will soon turn sixty in 2023. This is a testament to the timelessness of good design! The Elda chair has been offered in a range of three different shell colours (black, grey, and white) and a variety of upholsteries, primarily leather. However, the more popular colour is the white shell with black leather, as it blends seamlessly with almost any interior design style. This Elda chair, offered for purchase, has been well-maintained with only minor signs of wear on the fiberglass shell beneath the armrests. The original black leather upholstery has been recently updated. The chair is currently in excellent condition and is the perfect addition to any space age interior.
