The Coupé table lamp, designed by Joe Colombo in 1967 and manufactured by Oluce in Italy, provides direct light and features a lacquered metal base, chromium-plated stem, and adjustable reflector in lacquered aluminium. Originally intended as a variation of the Spider family, the Coupé series retains the base and stem, while its simple yet ingenious mechanism allows the beam to be directed in multiple directions by moving the dome up, down, and sideways. In 1968, the Coupé won the International Design Award from the American Institute of Interior Designers in Chicago, and it is now part of the permanent collections at both the MoMA in New York and the Neue Sammlung Museum in Munich. The lamp is made with chromium-plated metal, aluminium, and comes in black. It measures D X cm x W X cm x H 40 cm, and requires 1 x max 100W (E27) bulb (not UL listed). Founded in 1945, Oluce is the oldest Italian design company still operating in the lighting sector and has received numerous awards for its iconic, decorative, and technologically advanced designs by renowned Italian and international designers.
