Joe Colombo designed 'The Globe' suspension lamp in 1964, which provides direct and diffused light in transparent blown glass. Made in Italy by Oluce, it comes in two sizes and table and wall lamp versions. The lamp's pure geometries create a balance between function and shape, as a cylindrical metal reflector projecting timeless light into space is contained in a transparent blown-glass sphere. It comes in satin nickel or satin gold – anodic bronze finishes. The lamp features a transparent blown glass shade with satin nickel metal, measuring D 20 cm x W 20 cm x H 18 cm, suspended on a 300 cm cable. The lamp requires one 40W bulb (E14) maximum. This lamp is wired for Europe, and the client may need to convert it for use in other countries. Oluce, founded in 1945, is the oldest Italian design company still making lamps.
