Joe Colombo designed The Globe in 1964, an elegant suspension lamp that offers direct and diffused light through its transparent blown glass design. Oluce in Italy manufactures it, and it is available in two sizes and as table and wall lamps. Its sleek, geometrical lines create a seamless harmony between form and function, with a cylindrical metal reflector inside a blown glass sphere. The iconic lamp is then available in either satin nickel or satin gold anodic bronze finishes to emit an eternal light. It uses transparent blown glass and satin gold metal, with dimensions of D 30 cm x W 30 cm x H 27 cm and a 300 cm cable. The lamp uses 1 x max 60W (E27) and was created by the oldest Italian design company in the lighting sector that has been producing some of the most recognizable iconic lighting in the world since 1945. Over time, designers such as Tito Agnoli, Joe Colombo, Marco Zanuso, Ostuni e Forti, and VIco Magistretti have reinvented the history of lighting. The company's lengthy experience translates into unparalleled manufacturing skills, which result in beautiful and innovative lamps. Oluce has received several accolades, including two Golden Compass awards, two Design Awards and the Gold Medal at the 13th Triennale in Milan, and its lamps are found in significant permanent design collections worldwide.
