Joe Colombo created 'The Globe' suspension lamp in 1964, which emits direct and diffused light through its transparent blown glass sphere. Oluce, an Italian manufacturer, produces this lamp in table, suspension and wall versions, in two sizes. The lamp's geometry balances shape and functionality, with the cylindrical metal reflector located within the glass sphere. The lamp is available in satin nickel or satin gold finishes. It measures D 20 cm x W 20 cm x H 18 cm, with a 300 cm cable. The lamp requires 1 x max 40W (E14) bulb. Oluce, established in 1945, is the oldest Italian lighting design company still in operation. Their design aesthetic is linear and decorative, producing iconic designs, including lamps by Tito Agnoli, Marco Zanuso, Ostuni e Forti, and VIco Magistretti. Recent collections include designs by both Italian and international designers.
