The Joe Colombo-designed Armchair mod. 4801 by Kartell in the 1970s is a modern piece crafted from interlocking parts of red-bordeaux painted wood. The semi-oval seat and oval backrest are cushioned and covered in black faux leather, fixed directly onto the structure. Although the wooden structure shows some signs of use, it's in good condition. The measurements stand at 72 x 74 x 59 cm, with the seat reaching 41 cm in height. This chair is considered a highly sought-after rarity displayed in modern art auctions in the early and mid-20th century. Prestigious museums worldwide, such as the MOMA in New York, the VIctoria & Albert Museum in London, and the Center Pompidou in Paris, have it among their collections. The 4801 armchair was initially the only wood-made piece produced by Kartell, with plastic manufacturing technologies yet to emerge.
