Joe Colombo designed the 'Colombo' suspension lamp in 1970 for Oluce, an Italian design company that has been in operation since 1945. This visionary and futuristic lamp was inspired by the rapid diffusion of halogen light and is one of the first domestic lamps to use this type of bulb. The lamp features a chromium-plated stem, a lacquered ceiling fixing, and an adjustable reflector in lacquered aluminum. The sleek design, which includes clean shapes and technological functionality, showcases Colombo's renowned design talent. The lamp is available in black chromium-plated or anodic bronze and measures D X cm x W 128 cm x H 60/90 cm, with a 290 cm cable. The Colombo lamp uses 1 x max 24 W (LED) bulb. Oluce is known for their crisp, linear, and decorative design aesthetic and has received numerous acknowledgments over the years, including two Golden Compass awards and the Gold Medal at the 13th Triennale in Milan. Their manufacturing excellence has led to revolutionary designs by renowned designers such as Tito Agnoli, Marco Zanuso, and VIco Magistretti, as well as more recent designers like Nicola Gallizia and Christophe Pillet.
