A model was designed for the alpine sanatoriums of Guébriant and Martel de Janville in Passy by architects Pol Abraham and Jacques-Henri Le Même. The French army commissioned interior fittings from decorator Jules Leleu while the Jean Prouvé workshops were responsible for creating the furniture of the rooms, metal joinery, sash windows, and railings of the balconies. This desk formed part of a room's furnishing that also included a chair, visitor's chair, bed, chair of rest, reading lamp, and pedestal table. The lacquered brick folded sheet was composed of bolted dismountable elements and featured a block with drawer and filing elements on each side of the upper part. The oak top was redone to the original model. The drawer handles were polished stainless steel. The desk can be wall-mounted with new metal brackets. Bibliography sources include various works by Peter Sulzer and E. Bréon & M. Lefrançois. This desk is housed in public collections such as the Musée des Années 30, Boulogne-Billancourt, Musée d'Art Moderne de Saint-Etienne, and Centre Pompidou in Paris.
