This is an exquisite early desk by Jean Prouvé, which dates back to 1948 in France. It boasts a rectangular top covered in Formica, supported by white-painted metal legs (originally black and later painted white). The desk's left side features three drawers that can be moved to the right or removed altogether. Its provenance is traced back to the 1950 Gallery, NYC. Documentation on a similar model can be found in Jean Prouvé's "Constructeur" Monographie: collection 1990 Paris, Editions du Centre Pompidou, page 184.
