This is an original S.C.A.L. daybed designed by Jean Prouvé, circa 1951, as produced by Edition Steph Simon in France. The daybed features a folded sheet steel structure, black lacquered steel tube feet, and ash veneer headboard and footboard. The mattress and bolster have been recently upholstered in curly Brazilian cowhide with black leather piping and strap. The daybed is both a functional and beautiful piece of furniture, showcasing Prouvé's background in metalwork and his signature clean lines and sophisticated color.
