Constructed during the 1960s, the Jean Prouvé Brise Soleil was initially designed in 1956 for Cité Scolaire de la Dullague in Béziers, France. Made of aluminum, this piece is in exceptional condition with only slight signs of aging, including a beautiful patina and no significant dents. The gold anodized aluminum frame houses its original chain mechanism, which operates smoothly. This piece has been featured in various publications, including "Jean Prouvé: Œuvre complète / Complete Works, Volume 4: 1954-1984" by Peter Sulzer and "Jean Prouvé" by Galeries Jousse Seguin and Galerie Enrico Navarra. When closed, the Brise Soleil is 3" deep and 68 1/2" wide, while it extends to a depth of 11 1/4" when open, standing at a height of 74 1/4".
