The Jaguar XJS - Series I is a luxury grand tourer car that was produced by the British car manufacturer Jaguar Cars from 1975 to 1981. This two-door coupe was designed by Malcolm Sayer, who was also responsible for designing the iconic E-Type. The Series I was characterized by its sleek and aerodynamic body, which was made of lightweight materials such as aluminum and fiberglass to improve performance and fuel efficiency. Under the hood, the XJS Series I was available with a range of engines, including a 5.3-liter V12 engine that produced up to 285 horsepower and 298 lb-ft of torque. The engine was mated to a three-speed automatic transmission, which sent power to the rear wheels. This powerful engine allowed the XJS Series I to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 7.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 150 mph. Inside, the XJS Series I was fitted with a luxurious and spacious interior that boasted premium materials such as leather and wood trim. The car featured power windows and seats, air conditioning, and a powerful stereo system as standard. Safety features included four-wheel disc brakes, a collapsible steering column, and front and rear crumple zones. It was a worthy successor to the legendary E-Type and remained in production until 1996, when it was replaced by the XJS Series II.
