The IWC Portugieser 5001 made its debut in the horological scene back in 2004, showcasing a captivating blend of elegance and precision. Encased within its 42.3mm frame lies a sophisticated self-winding movement, boasting a power reserve indicator at the 3 o'clock position, a date display at 6 o'clock, and a charming small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock. In its earlier iterations, this timepiece was driven by the esteemed caliber 50010 (circa 2004-2005), with subsequent models adopting either the 51010 (2005-2007) or the 51011 (from 2007 onwards) movement. Notably, the Reference IW5001-22 stands out with its Red Gold case and a resplendent Brown dial, complemented by rhodium-plated sub-dials, making it a true collector's gem.
