Isamu Noguchi designed the "30D" Akari model which features a base in the shape of "T". The shade is crafted using washi and bamboo rims. The structure is made of black lacquered metal, with the plate base in cast iron and a black lacquered metal stem. This handmade piece is produced by the Ozeki Company in Gifu, Japan. This series was first introduced in 1951 and the early models bear the iconic red logo of the Sun and the Moon.
