A collection of six dining chairs coated in white plastic, crafted by Harry Bertoia and manufactured by Knoll International, is available for purchase. These chairs are in excellent condition, with one still bearing the Knoll label. Bertoia, an Italian-American artist, was invited by his former classmate Florence Knoll to join her husband's design company. Upon joining, he was given creative freedom to explore his passions, resulting in the iconic Bertoia Side chair in 1952. These chairs not only showcased innovative use of industrial materials but also prioritized the ergonomics of seating. Bertoia had previously collaborated with Charles and Ray Eames on their LCW and steel wire chairs but felt he did not receive recognition for his contributions. With the opportunity to work with the Knolls, Bertoia was able to pursue both furniture design and sculpting metal successfully.
