This is an exceedingly rare set of six model "CH-24" / "Wishbone" chairs from the early days of production by Carl Hansen & Sons, featuring Hans J. Wegner's iconic design. Each chair is imprinted with the maker's mark underneath the seat - a trademark found only during the initial years of production. These chairs are exceptionally well-maintained and have been gently restored by a skilled Danish craftsman. They retain their original, intricate paper cord woven seats. The oak wood chosen for these chairs exhibits an incredibly nuanced and high-quality grain pattern, characteristic only of these early pieces of the Wishbone design. Every detail of production was thoughtfully overseen by Hans J. Wegner himself at the Carl Hansen & Sons workshop in Odense, Denmark. Although they show signs of use, they add to the charming character of the set.
