This is a fabulous and cleverly designed extension dining table by Hans J. Wegner for Andreas Tuck, dating back to the 1960s and made of teak wood. The table boasts tapered extension leaf slides and a unique construction allowing the leaves to be stored neatly underneath the main top when not in use. Pulling on felted rails allows the leaves to slide out effortlessly and lower the main top, resulting in a flush extended surface. This wooden and mechanical design showcases simplicity at its best and enhances both the appearance and functionality of the piece. Furthermore, the table features round tapered legs, sturdy joinery, and a charming patina. With both leaves closed, it provides seating for six, but can comfortably accommodate up to ten when fully extended. The table bears the cabinetmaker's mark and is stamped with the Danish export control mark. To complete the set, six original Hans J. Wegner "W2" chairs are also available for purchase. The overall condition of the piece is exceptional and it measures 98.13" once fully extended.
