The JH 550 chair, also known as the Peacock Chair, is a comfortable armchair expertly crafted with an ash frame and teak armrests. Its seat features a woven paper cord design, creating a unique and stylish look. This particular example is believed to have been made in the 1960s by the acclaimed cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen, and it bears his stamp. The Peacock Chair was originally designed in 1947 and was presented at The Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition at Design Museum Denmark. It has been featured in various design publications, including Grete Jalk's "40 Years of Danish Furniture Design," where it was illustrated on pages 14 to 17.
