The "Papa bear chair" is an oak-legged easy chair with teak "nails" and a stool made of stained beech. Its seat, sides, and button-fitted back are upholstered with brown leather. The chair comes in two models, AP 19 and AP 29, and was designed in 1951 and 1954 respectively by AP Stolen. Over time, the chair has acquired a normal patina resulting from scratches, marks, and minor nicks on the back legs. The leather has also developed stains, dirt, blotches, and surface crackles. The backrest and under the "nails" have been frequently cleaned, but the stains still remain visible as shown in the picture. If you choose to reupholster the chair, the cost will be £7500 for leather upholstery or £6500 for fabric upholstery. We genuinely hope you consider investing in this beautiful piece.
