Crafted during his golden period of collaboration with master cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen in Copenhagen in the 1950s, this chair is an icon. Alongside other classics such as the China chair, Wishbone chair, and round chair, this piece is a masterpiece of Danish furniture design. Made from Wegner's preferred oak timber, the chair boasts an even patina that exudes natural beauty. Its original rattan cane is in pristine condition with very minimal signs of wear, showcasing the chair's durability and longevity. Numerous respected publications have recognized the importance and elegance of this chair, including Domus, Dansk Møbelkunst, and Sitting Pretty. It has also been featured in prominent exhibitions such as Design since 1945 and Wegner: just one good chair at the Design Museum in Denmark.
