The JH503 model chair, also referred to as "The Chair" or "The Round Chair," was designed in 1949 by Hans J Wegner and produced by Johannes Hansen in Denmark. Its teak frame boasts a curved back and is paired with an upholstered black leather seat. The chair is marked with the stamp "JOHANNES HANSEN/COPENHAGEN/DENMARK" and is a beloved piece of mid-century Scandinavian design. The chair gained worldwide attention when it was used during the first US presidential debate between John F Kennedy and Richard Nixon in 1960. In 1991, the chair was even featured on a Danish postage stamp. The chair is in good condition and is a truly aesthetically pleasing piece.
