Hans J. Wegner's FH 1936 Shell lounge chair, produced by Fritz Hansen in the early fifties, stands as a noteworthy example of designers' post-war exploration of molded plywood. The chair boasts a traditional cabinetmaker's work frame crafted from solid beech wood and two teak veneer molded plywood shells. Although the chair has undergone minor joint repairs and received upholstery years ago, it remains in solid condition and maintains its vintage charm after a light cleaning and refurbishing that preserves its patina. Its comfortable seating position and appealing vintage appearance make it a great addition to any space. Furthermore, reupholstering the chair's still-intact upholstery is an option, should one desire to update its look.
