One of the most iconic designs from Hans Wegner and the Danish mid-century modern era is the GE 290 sofa and armchair made by Getama, recognized for its elongated armrests reminiscent of ironing boards and rear feet that point backwards. For restoration, the cushions were reupholstered while preserving the original spring interiors, with only new foam applied around the core. The wooden frame has been cleaned and oiled. Crafted from wool and oak, this piece originated from Denmark in the 1960s and is marked on the underside. It is in excellent vintage condition with a beautiful warm wood tone. Measuring approximately 77cm in height, 183cm in width, 83cm in depth, and with a seat height of 40cm, this sofa and armchair are stunningly unique and exude charm in every way possible.
