This chair boasts a sturdy teak structure with Brazilian rosewood strips assembled to form the seat sling. A caning restoration in the past is visible and a Johannes Hansen plate indicates its production in the 1960s. Designed by Hans Wegner, the Cow Horn Chair was created in 1952 during his thriving career. The objective was to manufacture a compact chair using minimal space. To achieve this, Wegner reduced the solid wood used for the armrests and backrest to only two pieces. Typically, the two parts were connected with pegs, but he intentionally left the visible assembly system and highlighted it with dark rosewood. This unique concept became a signature element in Wegner's works. Hand-carved entirely, only a limited quantity of these chairs were ever produced.
