The CH26 dining chair, designed by Hans J. Wegner, was produced by Carl Hansen & Sà¬∏n in collaboration with the Hans J. Wegner Design Studio and in keeping with Wegner's original working drawing. This chair is part of a collection of iconic chairs Wegner created for Carl Hansen & Sà¬∏n, including the CH22 lounge chair. Despite creating a working drawing for a dining chair version of the lounge chair, the CH26, Wegner never created a physical model of the armchair, and it remained unknown to the public for many years. However, in 2016, Carl Hansen & Sà¬∏n revived the CH26 design, closely resembling the lounge version in its organic shapes, refined back, and hand-woven seat, but with proportions suitable for prolonged sitting at a dining table or desk. The chair is made from wood and papercord and is available in different frame and seat finishes, including black papercord. Its dimensions are 20.4in D x 23.3in W x 31.4in H, and it weighs 61.58 LBS. The chair is packed in a box measuring 32.5 H x 19.9 â‚Ǩ‚ÄπW x 21.5 L.
