The use of woven paper cord, a substitute for seagrass developed during World War II, had not been seen in furniture before. Despite this, Wegner appreciated the material's aesthetics and high durability, as have generations since then. Production of the CH25 lounge chair has remained constant since 1950, which is a testament to Wegner's visionary mindset. A skilled craftsman meticulously hand-weaves approximately 400 meters of paper cord for each seat and backrest, which can take up to 10 hours to complete. This exact process is visible on both sides of the backrest, resulting in a unique and visually striking chair from all angles. The chair's dimensions are 28.7in D x 27.9in W x 28.7in H, and it is made with papercord and wood, with a walnut oil wood frame finish and a natural papercord finish.
