The CH25 lounge chair, much like other iconic designs from Hans J. Wegner, boasts a clean and simple shape. However, the chair's release stirred attention due to Wegner's unusual choice of materials for its backrest and seat. Instead of seagrass, he went for woven paper cord, a material that had never been used in furniture production before, but one that he admired for its durability and non-stretching properties. To this day, the CH25 lounge chair remains incredibly popular and has been continuously produced since 1950, proving Wegner's innovative flair. Creating each chair entails approximately 10 hours of work and requires almost 400 meters of paper cord, which is meticulously woven by hand. This technique produces a weave that is visible on both sides of the backrest, resulting in a stunning and unique piece of furniture that is captivating from every angle. Additional specifications include oak painted black wood for the frame finish, black papercord finish, and dimensions of 28.7in D x 27.9in W x 28.7in H. Other frame finishes are also available, such as oak smoked stain, oak soap, oak lacquer, oak white oil, oak oil, oak black, smoked oak oil, walnut oil, and walnut lacquer. Moreover, other papercord finishes like natural are also available. The chair weighs 347.62 LBS and comes packaged nicely, with dimensions of 37.8 H x 62.2 W x 33.3 L.
