This is a set of three Wishbone chairs designed by renowned Danish furniture designer, Hans J. Wegner, and produced by Carl Hansen & Søn. The mid-century modern chairs are crafted from hand carved Oakwood and have a curved slim backrest with arched arms, supported by four rounded wooden legs. The seat cover is made of original hand woven paper rope. These chairs have been refurbished and hand polished, but they do show some wear consistent with age and use. They were produced in Denmark between 1950 - 1960. Each side chair required at least a hundred steps to design and produce. The seat measures 18.5" H x 19" W x 19.5" D. Carl Hansen & Søn is a family-owned Danish furniture manufacturer that was founded in 1908. They have worked with many famous designers and architects over the years, including Wegner, Finn Juhl, and Børge Korgensen. Their Y Chair design is particularly well-known and was the inspiration for these Wishbone chairs.
