This is a set of three handcrafted teakwood side chairs from the Mid-Century Modern Danish era. The chairs were elegantly designed by the famous Hans J. Wegner and produced by Fritz Hansen, showcasing heart-shaped seats and three delicately sculpted legs and seat backs. These chairs are in great condition, although there are some signs of natural wear and tear due to age and usage, as they were made circa 1955 in Denmark, Scandinavia. The seat dimensions for these chairs are 15" H x 17" W x 15" D. Hans Jorgensen Wegner was a well-known Danish furniture designer who was born in 1914 and passed away in 2007. He completed his apprenticeship at a young age and developed his skills further under the tutelage of master cabinetmaker, H.F. Stahlberg. Wegner earned major design prizes in 1951, which included the Lunning prize and the Grand Prix of the Milan Triennale. Fritz Hansen is a renowned Danish furniture design company that was founded in 1872 by the talented Danish carpenter, Fritz Hansen in Lillerod, Denmark. Over the years, many famous artists and designers have collaborated with Fritz Hansen, including Arne Jacobsen and Hans J. Wegner, whose iconic works have been manufactured by the company. Some of the company's most popular designs include the Egg chair by Arne Jacobsen and the Swan chair.
