This is a lovely, vintage Mid-Century Modern Danish coffee and sofa table crafted from beautifully hand-carved Teakwood. It was designed by the renowned furniture designer Hans J. Wegner and produced by Andreas Tuck. Despite showing some wear consistent with its age and use, this table remains in excellent condition. It originates from Denmark, Scandinavia, circa 1960. Wegner was a highly respected Danish furniture designer who completed his apprenticeship at just 17 years old under the guidance of master cabinetmaker H.F. Stahlberg. He went on to win major design prizes, including the Lunning prize and the Grand Prix of the Milan Triennale in 1951. Andreas Tuck was one of the greatest known Danish furniture design companies, founded around 1940-1950 in Odense, Denmark. Wegner was just one of many esteemed designers who worked for the company. Unfortunately, the company closed around 1972.
