A collection of 12 Hans Wegner AP38 lounge chairs, manufactured by A.P. Stolen in Denmark, is an unusual find. These contemporary chairs, crafted in 1958, feature tubular-steel frames and sharp triangular boomerang-shaped upholstered details on both sides of each seat. Despite their initial design not being airport-specific, the chairs acquired the name "Airport" due to their use in Copenhagen's "Kastrup" Airport, which continues to use similar chairs. Wegner's use of tubular-steel in these chairs challenged the notion that upholstered chairs must be bulky and excessively padded.
