Designed by French designers Jacques Chambron and Robert Guillerme in the early 1960s, this rare sideboard was produced by their company Votre Maison in France. The handles and glazed and painted ceramic tiles were designed and crafted by their frequent collaborator, Boleslaw Danikowski. Among the French duo's most architectonic storage pieces, this particular model is a rarity. Crafted entirely from solid French oak wood, the sideboard boasts a striking base composed of two front legs and two set inward back legs, creating a gorgeous architectural line that makes the upper part look light and almost ethereal. The storage section features exceptional tambour doors with beautiful vertical ridges, while on the right are five drawers with black, ceramic handles. The top is adorned with original, hand-painted ceramic tiles featuring a black and blue floral motif, which can easily be replaced with marble, mirrored glass, or smoked glass to better suit individual tastes. The piece has been restored with a focus on preserving the authentic patina of the oak wood, and is in very good condition overall.
