Guillerme & Chambron, the French design duo, crafted this impressive oak sideboard. The piece features two sliding doors beneath, with an upper section that contains two smaller sliding doors. The front of the sideboard showcases intricate graphical patterns. The top boasts dark green ceramic tiles from VIlleroy & Boch that add a classic touch to the cabinet. The clever combination of materials and colors gives the furniture a fresh and lively appearance. Guillerme studied design and architecture at the école Boule in 1934 while Chambron graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Reims. The two met during WWII while imprisoned and discovered their shared passion for interior design, becoming close friends. In 1948, Chambron left his position as a painter and decorator in Paris to join Guillerme in Lille. The pair met cabinetmaker émile Dariosecq, who owned a workshop nearby, and decided to start their own company, which they named "Votre Maison", emphasizing a focus on functionality with beautiful design. Dariosecq's workshop manufactured the pieces, with Guillerme working as a designer, and Chambron as a commercial specialist. Their shared vision resulted in over two thousand models, each impressively characterful and expressive, cementing their reputation as designers.
