Jacques Chambron and Robert Guillerme were two French designers who founded their business in the postwar era. Robert Guillerme was a graduate of the école Boule, where he studied design and architecture, and Jacques Chambron graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Reims. The two met during World War II while imprisoned in East Prussia and bonded over their shared passion for interior design. They founded their company, "Votre Maison" or "Your Home," in 1949 with cabinetmaker émile Dariosecq. Their mission was to create pieces that were both functional and visually pleasing for everyday use. The trio cooperated equally in creating over two thousand models of furniture, which gained them international recognition.
