This rectangular-shaped dining table boasts a stunning inlayed top and is extendable with the option of two additional leaves, making it a versatile piece of furniture. Crafted in solid oak, the table features Guillerme et Chambron's signature sculptural two-legged base, while the top showcases an elegant pattern in inlayed oakwood. The table's width is 223 cm when without the leaves attached. Jacques Chambron and Robert Guillerme, the French designer duo behind the creation of this piece, began producing furniture after the war. Guillerme had studied design and architecture at the école Boule, graduating top of his class in 1934, while Chambron had graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Reims. The two were imprisoned in a Prussian prisoner camp during the Second World War and met, forming a lasting friendship based on their shared passion for interior design. Chambron resigned from his job as a painter and decorator in Paris in 1948 to join Guillerme in Lille, where they soon met cabinetmaker émile Dariosecq. The trio collaborated and founded their own company, naming it "Votre Maison", or "Your Home", with a focus on creating functional pieces with beautiful design that could be used in daily life. Their work emphasized expressive woodwork and strong character, resulting in over two thousand unique models produced in their careers.
