Crafted from solid oak, this stunning cabinet is a masterpiece by the renowned designer duo Guillerme & Chambron hailing from France in the 1960s. The piece features intricate sculptural lines and edges, and comes with two glass doors in the upper section that lend themselves perfectly for displaying decorative items, while the lower part features stylish doors offering extra storage space with geometric inlayed wood finishing. The cabinet rests on four sturdy legs, making it not just a statement piece, but highly versatile too, for a wide array of settings. Jacques Chambron (1914-2001) and Robert Guillerme (1913-1990) were close friends and colleagues who shared a deep passion for interior design. Guillerme was an accomplished architect and designer who graduated first in his class in 1934 from the prestigious École Boule, while Chambron specialized in applied arts, graduating from the School of Applied Arts in Reims. It was during their imprisonment by the Germans in East Prussia in a Prussian prisoner camp during the Second World War that they met and struck up a lifelong alliance. They came together after the war to create their own company, Your Home (Votre Maison), which focused on designing functional yet beautifully designed pieces for everyday use. With Emile Dariosecq's workshop at the helm of their manufacturing, they went on to create over two thousand models, leaving an indelible mark on the world of design.
