Unveiled at BaselWorld 2014, Glashütte Original showcased their mastery of fine mechanical watchmaking with the introduction of the remarkable Calibre 37-01 column wheel chronograph. This exceptional movement was meticulously crafted entirely in the brand's renowned manufactory in Glashütte. The centerpiece of the Senator Chronograph Panorama Date, the Calibre 37-01 is offered in two exquisite versions. The first variant boasts a platinum case and a meticulously hand-finished silver dial, while the second iteration features a red gold case paired with a lacquered silver grained dial. The understated elegance and timeless design of the Senator collection are exemplified in the harmonious visuals of the dial. The inaugural release included two distinct versions, each meticulously crafted to perfection. The first model showcases a silver grained dial adorned with a black railroad chapter ring and Roman numerals, housed in a satin brushed and polished 18-carat red gold case. On the other hand, the second model presents a silver dial with a laser-engraved black tachometric scale, enhanced with a railroad chapter ring and Roman numerals filled in black before being expertly polished and silver-plated using the unique "silver plating by friction" technique. This process involves the meticulous application of fine silver powder by hand, resulting in a stunning, durable, and one-of-a-kind dial. The platinum case beautifully complements this radiant silver dial edition, exuding a polished and satin brushed finish. The Ref. 1-37-01-02-03-30 variant is adorned with an alligator strap featuring a folding clasp, while the Ref. 1-37-01-02-03-50 model comes equipped with an alligator strap featuring a shorter folding clasp.
